Wes’s Story
Wes Geer grew up in a A household immersed in music, healing, and community. His grandfather was a world renowned church musical director, his father was a physician and his mother was a nurse practitioner. From an early age, it was music, not medicine, that captured his heart. He taught himself to play the guitar, eventually founding the groundbreaking rock band HED PE, which sold over 1,000,000 records worldwide. His talent and dedication led to a life-changing invitation to join the legendary rock band KORN as their guitarist, a role that took him across 42 countries and headlining to audiences of over 80,000 people.
Beneath the surface of these achievements, Wes battled significant mental health challenges. The turning point came when he discovered how writing and playing music in a collaborative setting could serve as a powerful form of therapy. Realizing the underutilized power of music, Wes was compelled to share this transformative process with others. Wes began working with individuals in residential treatment programs who were experiencing mental health crises. The sessions were met with overwhelming enthusiasm, and Wes soon formalized this effort as Rock to Recovery. Today, the organization supports over 150 treatment centers across the United States and has produced more than 30,000 songs on SoundCloud, giving countless people a channel for healing through music.

David’s Story
David Carter, an accomplished tech entrepreneur and venture capitalist, co-founded Amplify.LA with leaders from William Morris and Disney and then Zuma Ventures. His path converged with Wes after he was invited and attended a Rock to Recovery’s annual benefit concert at the famed Fonda Theater in Hollywood. David was deeply inspired by the event and profoundly moved by the organization’s mission. Having recently lost a decades-long mentor and best friend to COVID-19, he knew firsthand the importance of accessible mental wellness support and a dearth of effective modalities in corporate wellness. Determined to help expand Rock to Recovery’s transformative reach, David connected with Wes and began exploring new ways to bring collaborative music therapy to a broader audience.

The BandJAM Journey
Spurred by their shared vision, David conducted extensive research to validate the efficacy of Rock to Recovery’s methods. Convinced of its broad potential and how leveraging proven technology and business models could enable large-scale delivery. David officially joined forces with Wes in 2025 to create and launch BandJAM—an initiative designed to bring these transformative group music experiences to the corporate world and beyond.
BandJAM focuses on addressing the mental health crisis within the workplace, recognizing that one in five adults suffers from a mental health condition. Even more pressing, nearly half of Gen Z and Millennial populations—who will soon dominate the global workforce—struggle with these challenges. Through immersive music sessions, BandJAM not only boosts team morale and overall wellness but also generates measurable returns: for every dollar invested, employers can see up to five dollars in increased productivity, fewer sick days, reduced healthcare costs, and lower turnover rates.
The program enters a market estimated at $61 billion and projected to exceed $85 billion by 2030. Yet, despite soaring demand, only a third of service providers offer viable mental health solutions. Meanwhile, 91% of employers plan to ramp up spending in this area. BandJAM bridges this gap by infusing authentic, creative music-making into a proven model for corporate wellness and personal transformation.
